Our Customers HaloSauna™ FAQ HaloRed™ FAQRed light dosing, beam angle, EMF, third-party testing and what makes the patented salt-and-light combination different.
There’s an inverted-U response curve with red light: more is not always better. The advantage of our devices is that clients get the same benefits in less time than other products on the market. Five to fifteen minutes a day is really all that’s needed.
Red (620–700nm) and near-infrared (800–900nm) light is very safe, with no known negative side effects across more than 3,000 clinical studies.
Our lights are very bright, so goggles are provided and should be worn when facing the panels, particularly when near-infrared is active. Clients should never stare directly into the LEDs.
Anyone with eye problems or other health conditions should consult a licensed healthcare professional before using a red light therapy device.
The best-studied mechanism is increased mitochondrial energy production. Mitochondria are the power plants of your cells, and red and near-infrared light helps them create more energy.
Specific photons in red and near-infrared light interact with a photoreceptor in our cells called cytochrome c oxidase. That interaction stimulates mitochondria to use oxygen more efficiently, producing more ATP - the molecular unit of energy that drives muscle contraction, nerve impulses and chemical synthesis. When cells have more energy, they simply perform better.
Many LED manufacturers use a wide 90-degree beam angle. The problem is that power density drops off quickly over distance, so the further back you sit, the weaker the dose.
Our red lights use a narrower 60-degree beam angle to maintain therapeutic power density at greater distances - which matters when you’re treating a whole body, not a small area.
Our devices are engineered for low EMF. At the recommended usage distance of six inches or more, they emit no detectable EMF.
They’re also lower than most alternatives because they contain only the electrical components needed to power and cool the lights - nothing extraneous. Be wary of devices that come with an app: that requires a WiFi or Bluetooth signal, and many such devices emit a signal even when not in use.
Yes. Our lights have been third-party tested and validated by an independent testing laboratory. Other red light products may look similar, but unless a company publishes transparent, independent testing data, you don’t know what you’re getting.
The HaloRed is the only system that combines dry salt therapy, red light and oxygen in one patented booth. Translucent, multi-sided salt crystals refract the light, creating billions of micro-bursts of red light that amplify its effects, while red light waves energise and heat the salt particles, enhancing their dryness and effectiveness beyond traditional halotherapy.
