From luxury salt rooms/caves, pre-built salt booths, salt beds and salt cabins, to inflatable cabins and pop-up tents, you can always choose the best one for your own use.
Halotherapy (dry salt therapy) is one of the fastest-growing, new wellness modalities being added to Spas and Wellness centers all over the world-and China will be next to see the huge adoption of Halotherapy.
One doesn’t need to look much further than AWA Health in Beijing to see the huge demand for Salt therapy. Launched a few years ago, the Salt Therapy facility has never been busier. Plus, after announcing their franchise model six months ago, the demand from potential franchisees has been incredible.
Around the world, from day spas to 5-star destination spas, Halotherapy is being added. In just the last six months we have seen some of the top hotel/resort brands begin to offer Halotherapy. Some of these include Fairmont, Four Seasons, Chable and Canyon Ranch-plus many more.
And awareness continues to grow with the leading spa operator in airports around the world (XpresSpa) having recently launched Halotherapy. Its first installation is at one of the busiest airports in the world-JFK in New York City.
The two main reasons Halotherapy is growing so fast are: 1. it works so well for consumers; 2. it’s a great business add-on service for Spas/Wellness Centers. Halotherapy is an automated Spa service so facilities can earn extra revenue without adding any extra labor costs. Plus, with some of the new equipment available, zero to only a small amount of extra physical space, is needed.
Halotherapy’s fast growth has also caught the attention of the prestigious Global Wellness Institute. They have recently created an initiative, with leading experts from all over the world including China, to ensure there is one digital location to collect and share the vast amount of research and media coverage of Halotherapy. Representing China in the Initiative is He Yi, General Manager, Hakone Hot Springs Spa Group. He is establishing their company as the largest distributor of Halotherapy equipment in China.
What is Halotherapy/Dry Salt Therapy?
Halotherapy is a scientifically-proven drug- free treatment primarily for respiratory health, stress reduction and fitness improvement. It also works great for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
Using modern technology with a Halogenerator as its core, the machine crushes pure pharmaceutical salt into micron-sized particles that are breathed deeply into one’s respiratory system. Salt is anti-inflammatory, super-absorbent and anti-microbial so it may help alleviate symptoms of asthma, seasonal allergies, bronchitis, sinusitis, smoker’s cough, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis and coughs.
There are literally hundreds of millions of people with these conditions worldwide. And with the continued growth of air pollution globally, these numbers are expected to grow at an even faster rate.
How to Provide Halotherapy
There are 3 major ways to offer Halotherapy : 1. Salt rooms/caves-200-300 square meter rooms are specifically designed for 6-10 people to experience Salt Therapy together. Some of these can be very elaborately done, costing over US$100,000. Others can be done at a lower cost. 2. Pre-Built Enclosures-Instead of having the large expense of building out and designing a special room, and the long time associated with that (especially given the need to protect the HVAC system) a few years ago, pre-built Salt Booths, Salt Beds and Salt Cab- ins were offered to the industry and this is what most businesses choose to buy now. And not only is it better for them, their customers get a personalized experience (not surrounded by 6-8 other people coughing) and the session length is half the time since the enclosure is smaller than a huge room-so the salt concentration is more effective and concentrated faster. 3. Portable/Mobile units-with new inflatable cabins and pop-up tents, it’s very easy for a business to go into the community and offer Halotherapy even without having their own facility. Or if they have their own facility but have limited space, it’s very easy to wheel in and out one of these new small mobile units.
Again, the next big wave in Halotherapy global growth is about to come to China. Learn how you can become one of the leaders.
